HB 2182    RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX             EDB,FIN
        Exempts local manufacturers from wholesale GET.

HB 2366    RELATING TO COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL          EDB,FIN
        IMPROVEMENTS
        Creates commercial and industrial improvement tax
        credit to be deducted from taxpayer's net income tax
        liability.

HB 2604    RELATING TO TAXATION                           EDB,FIN
        Clarifies the law for the GET exported services
        exemption and pyramiding relief.  Provides GET
        pyramiding relief on the sale of amusements.  Proposes
        a 1/2% PSC tax rate for a PSC taxpayer on the sale of
        telecommunications and transportation services.
        Imposes the use tax on importing contracting.


HB 2438    RELATING TO STATE ENTERPRISE ZONES             EDB,FIN
        Specifies biotechnology businesses and certain types
        of call centers as qualified businesses within an
        enterprise zone.  Clarifies eligibility criteria for
        the EZ contractor exemption from the general excise
        tax (GET). 

 
HB 2876    RELATING TO GENERAL EXCISE TAX                 EDB,FIN
        Allows for cash basis accounting for contractors.


HB 2903    RELATING TO UNLICENSED ACTS                    EDB,CPC
        Changes from $1,000 to jurisdictional limits of
        district courts for projects exempt from requirements
        that a licensed contractor perform the project.


HB 2964    RELATING TO COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMIC           EDB,FIN
        DEVELOPMENT                                           
        Appropriates funds for community-based economic
        development activities


HB 2434    RELATING TO STATE FINANCES                     EDB,FIN
        Authorizes and appropriates $550,000 from the Hawaii
        Community-Based Economic Development Revolving Fund
        and $1,000,000 from the Hawaii Strategic Development
        Corporation Revolving Fund into the general fund for
        the fiscal year 2000-2001.

HB 2441    RELATING TO BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS               EDB,JHA
        Defines "biological materials" and provides for the
        recognition of biological materials as personal
        property.


HB 2497    RELATING TO THE STATE INTERNET                 EDB,FIN
        Establishes an oversight committee to be known as the
        Access Hawaii Committee to review and approve the
        development and operation of an internet portal for
        electronic services.
